From an early age, Reta was known as “the artist in the family”—a title lovingly given to her by her mother, whose encouragement ignited a lifelong passion for creative expression. Her artistic roots are in Canada, India and Dubai. Her paintings are a tapestry of experiences, traditions, and emotions, woven together through fluid brushstrokes and luminous layers of ink, acrylic, and watercolor. Blending the bold beauty of Georgia O’Keeffe’s florals with influences from her global roots, Reta’s art is both personal and transcendent. Touches of gold leaf—a nod to Indian and Middle Eastern design—add a shimmering dimension to her expressive florals and abstract compositions. Each piece captures the interplay of vibrancy, movement, and spirit, inviting the viewer into a soulful dialogue with nature and color. Reta is a versatile and innovative artist whose work spans genres and styles, from intimate studies of blooming flowers to bold, contemporary statements. Her paintings have been exhibited in her private gallery in Dubai, collected internationally, and even auctioned by Christie’s. She was lead artist for a collaborative art project at the Minnesota State Fair where over 1400 people placed their mark of belonging on the canvas - Circles of Belonging.
